During today’s lecture we began to learn the basics of exposure using a DSLR camera and taking shots in raw format. I have a Canon 600D myself but had not mastered the use of the manual modes. This certainly gave me an insight into the functions of the camera, and below you can see what I believe is one of my favourite pieces of work from the session. We did not have time to take lots of shots during the lecture so I went out afterwards and took some on my own and produced the shot below. I personally like the colours and the focus of the end of the leaf in the middle, but could may have been a bit better if the composition was more professional and I adopted the use of ‘the rule of thirds’.
